Forgive my lack of blogging as of late.

I'm going through a sort of mid-life crisis. We may be possibly buying a house....maybe.

But that would mean I'm all by myself while Scott is deployed.

Me-no-likey.

But...

I'm not sure Utah is where I want to  be either.

You see,

I'm convinced that if I can move into a neighborhood with nicer neighbors and be closer to friends...

I'll survive.

Will I?

I'm sure we will, but not without needing psychotherapy. Ahhh, the joys of a secure job.

In the meantime, I'll be spending even MORE time on MLS and craigslist...

if that's possible.

And trying to find a 400K house for 200K.

Wish me luck.

We didn't get to family pictures this year. Maybe before Scott leaves.

So, here's Penny wishing you a Merry Christmas!

In honor of Lydia's birthday today,

I'm going to show you how far she's come along.

Speechless?

Me too.

I mean, I knew she was chubby when she was little.

But at the time I didn't realize that I had obesity on my hands.

Pure breastmilk.

Cream actually.

Wow.

Anywhoo - now let's show you the after pictures:

Here's what 4 years can do.
Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful Girl.

Silly and sweet and oh so excited to be opening birthday presents.

Dear Lydia,

I'm so glad you're in my world.
I'm very honored to be your mommy.
Happy 4th birthday goose.

Our adventure home from Utah. Part 1

Our trip to Utah was a huge success until we tried to go home.

We were attempting to fly with the Air Force, which is possible....

so they say.

Security reasons keep them from releasing information on where they'll be flying until 24 hours in advance, which keeps you on your toes. But if your open it works out.

So, on a sunny Thursday morning we discover that a flight is leaving from Sacramento to Anchorage on Friday morning.

Frantic packing and a couple of energy pills allowed us to be out of the door by 10:30.

We say our goodbyes and we're off...for 12 hours.

Nevada blahness and the sunset.

This was Henry's first "road trip". He survived surprisingly well (thank heaven for pacifiers). The girls are good roadtrippers. Just look at how Gracie makes the time go by by molding her gum into a "snail's shell".

We arrive at a hotel by 11:00 p.m. at Travis AFB in Sacramento Cali.

I rush the kids to bed while Scott heads off for another adventure to return our rental car at the Sacramento airport an hour away.

2 1/2 hours and a frustrating and expensive taxi ride later, Scott is back to the hotel and hits the sack.

We wake up at 7:00. Must be at the passenger terminal by 8:00. We call another taxi, pack up and head out.

At the passenger terminal we wait. They say they have room for us! Hurray! Success! We check our bags in. We go through security. We wait.

And wait.

And wait.

They come and tell us that we might not be able to fly on this plane because of some "hazardas material" on board.

My heart is sinking.

We wait.

And wait.

They come and say, "Alright, lets get you on that airplane. It's all good to go."

Ahhhhh! All that praying payed off!

We get on an old school bus. They shuttle us out to the flying warehouse....uh....plane.

We stop. The driver looks confused and says, "I know you don't want to hear this, but that plane just leaving is your plane."

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

I must not be as righteous as I thought.

2 hours and some seriously painful loading of the baggage back into a taxi later, we are back into a hotel.

To wait and see when the next flight out to Anchorage will be.

Our only solace is this:

Sponge Bob.

To be continued...
