I had so much fun planning for a surprise party for my dear friend, Bobbi.

I went all out girly and had a "princess" theme for Bobbi. She is so athletic and is out doors whenever she can but she loves sparkles and feathers! That's my kind of girl. :)

Every body got a little gift box, but only Bobbi got the tiara...

This cake was a blast to make:

But I'm warning you now, just looking at it will absorb it's massive amount of calories. 

Don't blame me if you gain 2 lb's  after looking at that picture.

And don't blame me for not taking any pictures during the party...

that's never been a strong point of mine.

O no I di-ent...

 *  try to spell "Oh, no I didn't" in the way it sounds when someone says it with attitude.

*  spend more than $200.00 at the "big and large store" for two weeks in a row.

*  get flutters and all sorts of yearning emotions as I saw my friend nursing her baby last night.

* consider trying to make myself vomit after eating an undisclosed amount of Nutella and graham crackers.

* agree to helping out a fellow ward member throw a mulit-ward missionary activity less than a week before we move.

* realize that Henry had taken off his shoe at who knows where, while in the above said store, and pretend not to notice so I didn't have to turn around and look for it.


* try to convince Scott to do this with me:

Five For Friday

#1.

The temperatures have been scoarching this week! 

It got warm enough to make the snow sticky and snowman-able.

Meet Cowboy Snowman Adams:

The down side to having warmer temperatures means layers and layers of snow and ice melting on the streets.  I spent my (yesterday) morning like this:

I have now been initiated into the Alaskan crappy drivers club. 

If you're wondering why I'm on the wrong side of the street I'll tell you....

I'm not actually on the wrong side of the street. You see, after fishtailing about 5 times I gave up fighting the inevitable and we spun right-round and entered the huge snow bank backwards. 

To make things worse, I had someone else's children in the car along with my own. Our initial reactions were as follows: 

Me:  sobbing hysterically

Melinda's boys:  "That was AWESOME!"

Gracie:  "Mom! That was so scary!"

Lydia: "How long till we get out of here?"

Luckily, we managed to walk away with only a floppy flap above our tire and a $150.00 towing fee. I'd say we were pretty lucky.

Lydia gets the "bravery" award today. 

At her (late) 4yr. well check she endured 3 shots in the thighs. 

I had prepared her and told her she could get a prize if she acted brave. 

She didn't cry, grimace or even flinch!

The technicians were amazed and said they've never had a 4 year old that just layed still and didn't cry. 

Her choice of prize: a smoothie.

I absolutely despise the stage where babies are learning to use utinsels and eat like "big kids".

On Saturday Scott took me to an Ah-MAZING "4 diamond" restaurant. 

This is an adventure we've never experienced. 

Behold:

Seven Glaciers

This restaurant is located 3000 ft. above sea level on top of the famous Aleyska Ski Resort. 

(for all you Utahns thinkin' 3000ft. isn't so high, let me remind you that Alaska mountains start at sea level.)

This was our view from our table:

Those wires to the right are the only reasonable way to get up the mountain (especially while wearing stilletos)....in a tram. 

My heart skips a beat just thinking about this amazing "Winter Squash Ravioli":

I had to taste it before I would know if it was "photo worthy". Though it does look very pretty!

Now.

Let me just tell you that my mouth does back flips just thinking about the dessert we had. 

I mean seriously. 

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh,

*drool*

Give respect to "Baked Aleyska":

If you think it looks amazing, just try it.

I won't even bore you with the details of the triple layered white, milk, and dark chocolate ice creams with the brownie layer and a decadent melty ganache center. 

Moving on...

Oh, wait. 

I just needed to suck the spoon to make sure I got every. morsel. and. molecule. off.

All events actually happened this very evening.

#1. Steal a cookie and eat it on top of the table...

Take inventory of my mom's tupperware...

Throw my mac n' cheese on Penny...

Throw eyeshadow and makeup brushes into the bathtub...

Throw mom's deodarant into her bathtub.

Knock the chair over and run to give mom a snuggle...
